Why I think clarity wins
Sixteen years of operator work, one observation that keeps surviving.
After sixteen years sitting in the CFO seat, the founders who win aren't the smartest or the most-funded. They're the ones with the clearest map.
Not the prettiest dashboard. The clearest map.
What the data shows
Every successful turnaround I've been part of has three things in common:
- One number. The team agrees on a single contribution-margin or cash-runway figure to move.
- A weekly rhythm. Not monthly. Not quarterly. Weekly.
- Permission to subtract. They stopped doing five things to do one thing better.
The hack
Clarity is not a deliverable. It's a discipline.
